Shiatsu in Japan
In Japan today, Shiatsu functions as an integral part of the national health system. Therapists must complete three years (over 2,100 hours) of full time study at an accredited college, where they obtain a firm grounding in the foundations of both Western and Eastern medicine in addition to developing their manual skills. On completion of the program, they must pass a national government exam in order to obtain official certification as an Anma, Massage, and Shiatsu Therapist. Learn more..
